Wow, hello, now there's someone I haven't seen in years! Lots of people have abandoned Russian-owned LJ for Dreamwidth, but I still check in here out of habit... more of a Tumblr user now...

Hello! Wow, it's been so long I'm not even sure where I know you from (IRC, fandom, fanfic author, etc.) I'm mainly on Facebook these days. Haven't seen Dreamwidth yet but I should check it out. :-) Nice to see you again :-) My FB link is here if you're on at all:

Doctor Who fandom -- loved Seventh Doctor and Ace. Haven't been much of a modern DW fan, didn't care about Eccleston, hated Tennant, liked Smith... but am hopelessly in love with Capaldi and will be broken-hearted when he leaves at S10's end. I remember your e-mailing me some DW fic you were working on. Then my life went all to chaos with taking care of parents, Dad dying -- and since then, Mom (who was always a loon) went into assisted living. No, I don't do Facebook, because of issues with their security, and the fact they probably know all about me already from the times I've clicked on FB links like the above, yikes.

No, seriously, FB apparently tracks anyone who clicks any FB link ever, even something as mundane as that.

I understand the writing issues. No, I don't really write these days. Probably should try again.

Family's difficult. Mom is very likely a narcissist with paranoia, and was possibly psychotic or near so for most of her life. It certainly explains a lot. I suspect I have personality disorders, but the therapist I decided to go to isn't convinced. My sister, who alternates between "loving" me and sniping viciously (including threatening to have me institutionalized), thinks I'm a delusional narcissist. Maybe so. Oh well. I've just thought for years that I'm somewhere on the autism spectrum (which my sister treats as if it's a moral failing).

pmurT. I try not to call him by name, or I call him 45 or something else...

I ended up hating Tennant because I already wasn't impressed with how his Doctor was written and acted (he struck me as the worst sort of entitled little brat with which I grew up during school days), and saw some horrible behavior from his raging fangirls. He looks like a weasel and gives me creeps.

Re: Capaldi, he's said that the regeneration process is going to be complex this time around. I think he's in all of S10 -- his last ep is supposed to be the 2017 Christmas special. (He also said he filmed for ten months, so why do that if he left halfway through?) Yes, he's seen having regen issues in the teasers. There's an interesting-sounding ep in which the Vatican has a secret, scary book which kills anyone who reads it -- and there's something about one of the teasers that makes me think he read it, and it set off the regen process, which might not work quite right. Unsure, but he's seen standing by a table with a book on it, and having an outburst of regen energy.

Also, I'm pretty certain it's his voice saying lines from the finale in one of those teasers: "Without hope. Without witness. Without reward." I'm scared... that sounds like the gist of Delenn and Sebastian's scenes together in Babylon 5's "Comes the Inquisitor." (Go be a crusader for justice, but there will be no glory -- expect nothing except to die alone and forgotten.)

And then there's the fact that Chris Chibnall ended up two months late with Broadchurch, and intends to take a break before taking over DW, so I strongly doubt he's done any casting yet, despite all the rumours (including Kris Marshall). The Christmas special will be filmed in June or July, so I imagine they'll have someone by then, for the regeneration scene.

Anyway, that's quite enough babbling.

Ah, yes, one day at a time is about all I can manage. Thanks. :-)

And by "here", I meant on LJ, where this comment was originally posted.
